WRESTLNG TEAM RULES

In order to achieve success in a tough sport like wrestling you need to be dedicated both on and off the mat. Lack of dedication in your schoolwork or practice will not be tolerated. There is no room on the wrestling team for individuals who do not want to cooperate.

EXPECTATIONS
The following expectations are for your benefit of the team as well as your own:
• Show up to practice everyday -- both Pre-season and Season.
• Dress everyday for practice regardless of injury or health status.
• Buy the required wrestling t-shirt and practice clothes
• Attend all fundraisers.
• Show respect to the coaching staff and teammates.
• Do what you are told.
• Be on time to every team meeting.

DISCIPLINE ACTIONS
A lack of self-control will result in one or all consequences:
• Loss of Varsity /JV spot for one week.
• Loss of opportunity to challenge for a Varsity/JV spot.
• Removal from the team

MISSING PRACTICE
• If you miss practice for an unexcused reason, you will be considered truant and be removed from the team. Your grade will automatically be a fail.
• If you miss practice you must call Coach Carrillo on his cell phone and leave a message or email Coach Carrillo at richardcarrillo@simi.k12.ca.us
• If you had an emergency situation you can discuss your status for that week with Coach Carrillo.
• Bottom Line…DO NOT MISS PRACTICE!

CHALLENGE MATCHES
• You are encouraged to challenge for a Varsity spot every week.

INELIGIBLE STUDENTS
The Wrestling Team has no room for a student that cannot maintain a 2.0 GPA. If you decide that you cannot get a 2.0 in school and no more than one “U” in citizenship one or all consequences will follow:
• Removal from the team
• If it’s too late to remove you from the class, you will sit on the wall until 6th period is over, and you will receive a grade of FAIL in 6th period wrestling. NO EXCEPTIONS.

LETTER AND AWARDS QUALIFICATIONS
• In order to receive a Varsity Letter in the sport of wrestling one must earn a minimum of 12 varsity team points.
• A JV letter requires at least one JV match wrestled.
• All wrestlers must finish the season in good standing to earn a letter and be invited to the awards banquet.
