League's best shine

Cameron Teitelman of Calabasas defeated Mikey Murphy in the highlight match
of Marmonte League finals, Kevin Dunn of Royal showed he is ready for another
strong postseason effort, and Moorpark saved its best for last.
So it went in the area's best wrestling league Saturday at Simi Valley, where
Teitelman (38-2) posted a 9-4 decision over Murphy (35-8) in a 125-pound final
matching Southern Section-ranked wrestlers. Teitelman (38-2), who had lost to
Murphy (35-8) in the Sam De John final at San Fernando, wound up Marmonte lower-weight
MVP.
Returning Masters Meet qualifier Dunn (119) improved to 28-3 with his third league title and Moorpark won a league-best five titles in its best effort of the year. The Musketeers, who went 3-4 in league dual meets, got championships from Reed Dadoune (140), Esteban Torres (171), David Johnson (189), heavyweight John Martinez and league upper-weight MVP Eric Bodjanac (152).
Defending Southern Section Div. V Dual Meet champion Royal of Simi Valley, which completed a third consecutive league dual meet season Tuesday to earn league Coach of the Year honors for Richard Carrillo, got titles from Dunn, Gerald Figuroa (103), Dan Lemos (135) and Miguel Rivera (215).
Mission finals: Host Crespi defeated Alemany 51-27 to secure a sweep of the league final dual-meet rotation and lock up a fourth consecutive Mission title. Weight class champions Ryan Cirillo of Chaminade (lower weight), Ernesto Prado of Alemany (middle weight) and Adam Mazzeo of Chaminade (upper weight) were league MVP selections.
Golden finals: Eric Timson's win at 140 highlighted a six-title day by league champion Antelope Valley, and Highland of Palmdale had four league champions, including three-time winner Josh Purpus.
