He won a CIF-Southern Section championship.

He qualified for the state tournament.

He was selected to be part of the Junior National Dual Team.

Yep, it was a good season for Kevin Dunn. It's no wonder then that the Ventura County Star's All-County Wrestler of the Year is Dunn, a 119-pound junior from Royal High.

Dunn is not about to let up either, He's getting ready for his senior high school season with weight training and a diet of freestyle wrestling tournaments. "I'll probably wrestle at 130 or 135 next year. It will be nice not having to lose weight," he said.

Actually, he's used to wrestling bigger wrestlers. He worked out in practice last season against wrestlers in the 135-, 140- and 145-pound divisions.

Dunn's success was one of the reasons Royal enjoyed huge success this season. The team won its second straight CIF title.

"Last year we were the top team, and this year not a lot of people expected a lot of us, but we came out and dominated," he said.

His next goal is a three-peat, and along the way maybe winning a CIF individual title and placing high in the Masters and state tournaments.

If 2006 is an indicator, he and Royal will do just fine in 2007.
